Description
Percy Puley’s journal-notebook is spiral bound with a red leather cover. It contains 123 pages of lined paper filled with notes that were used for various lectures and hands-on drills to train military recruits. To organize his thoughts, Puley includes diagrams, charts, and lists that illustrate chains of command, enumerate the components of certain kinds of machinery, and detail how gas is used in combat and the ways soldiers can defend themselves against gas attacks. Readers should note that Puley appears to have numbered his pages according to individual lectures; numbering therefore recommences with “1” where a new lecture or lesson begins.
